Trina tried CBD products awhile back and had good results, so she wanted to do something to help others in our community. CBD can be very useful for a variety of issues, and she even uses it for her dog and cat. This is what inspired her to open Trina’s CBD and More.
She carries only quality products that are lab and third-party tested. She recently began carrying a new 900 mg CBD product in a mint form. If you don’t like the drops, this is the way to go.
CBD can help with anxiety, depression, and acts as an antipsychotic mood stabilizer for the brain. It reduce muscle spasms, offers pain relief, and reduces inflammation. It also helps stimulate growth and strength in bones. CBD has vasorelaxant properties for the eyes, which could be useful in the treatment of glaucoma. It can help prevent plaque build up in the heart and also aids in digestion by acting like a anti-prokinetic or anti-emetic and is effective against vomiting and nausea. CBD can also help with appetite control. It has also been known to reduce seizures, in some cases.
It also works for our furry friends!
Trina also carries non-infused products such as bath bombs and homeopathic products. You can find shirts, candles, koozies, plus other things she likes to do on her heat press. Soon, she will be adding new items to the store as well! So come on in and check out her store.
If she doesn’t have an answer for you regarding your situation, she will work hard to find it for you, saying “I love to learn, so lets learn together!”
Trina strives to create a welcoming atmosphere at her business and even her dog, Izzy, is there to greet customers. He may bark, especially if she is in the back of the store, but is friendly and loves people!
Trina’s CBD and More is located at 1812 on Highway 95 in Suite 10 or call her at 928-758-1300.
Trina would like to thank her repeat customers! Their loyalty is truly appreciated.

Keeping Pets Cool In The Summer

Bullhead City Animal Care and Welfare would like to remind residents to keep pets cool this summer. Here are a few tips to help keep pets safe in Bullhead City’s excessive heat.
- Make sure your pet has plenty of water and shade.
- A small wading pool outside works great to cool off pets.
- Do not leave your animal unattended in a vehicle. It only takes a few minutes for your pet to overheat, suffer organ failure or even die.
- Do not walk your dog during the day because the pads on their feet can burn. Instead, walk in the early mornings or evenings.
- Never leave your animal unattended for more than 24 hours.
If your pet is required to be tied up while outside, make sure it has plenty of shade and water. The tie should be no shorter than 10 feet.
There are some signs of pet dehydration; including excessive drooling, lethargy, bloodshot eyes, and loss of skin elasticity. If you are concerned your pet may be dehydrated, get it into the shade, provide water, cool it down with a damp cloth and contact your veterinarian.
For more information, contact the Bullhead City Animal Care & Welfare Facility at (928) 763-6000.

Don Fisher and the Antique Cottage have been a staple of Fort Mohave, AZ for the last 20 years and have built a following of loyal shoppers from around the world. They also won the Mohave Daily News’ “Best Of” award 10 years in a row!
Don, the owner of the Antique Cottage, is usually very busy, either at the Cottage helping his customers or out traveling, looking for more fun, collectible items for his shop. At 81 years old, Don feels that working keeps him young and he has no plans to retire anytime soon.
The Cottage doesn’t operate like a normal shop, where you have one proprietor, who purchases and resells the stores inventory. Instead, the cottage currently has 13 different dealers, all who have a small space within the building. Each dealer brings something unique and the large selection of items almost feels like a trip back in time.
Shoppers can find almost anything they can think of, from glassware, games, and puzzles. There are tables set up featuring collectibles from Coca Cola, I Love Lucy, The Three Stooges, John Wayne, etc. They also sell many Native American items, including dolls, decor, and beautiful Turquoise jewelry. Prices are somewhat negotiable. They accept all major credit cards and have a layaway program for their shoppers’ convenience.
The Antique Cottage is located at 4596 Hwy 95 in Fort Mohave, AZ. They can be reached by phone at 928-763-5242.

Hansel Boyd, owner of Electrum Internet and Tech Needles opened his business in December of 2018 and has already made a big impact on the tiny town, providing high speed internet access and computer repair to an area that is vastly underserved.
“A lot of our customers would ask for recommendations for an internet company because they were fed up with their current company. But, we couldn’t offer any,” says Boyd.
“I started thinking maybe I can check and see if something else is slowing your computer, maybe it’s not the internet. But after so many requests about internet, I did my research (providing internet access) and I figured I could just handle Needles. There’s a market here. There’s a need.”
Boyd also said he is planning on providing internet access to the Arizona side of the Tri-State as early as next month.
In addition to general computer repair and high speed internet access, Tech Needles also offers computer classes and website design and is currently producing the new website for the Needles Chamber of Commerce.
For more information on Tech Needles or Electrum Internet, give them a call at 1-888-600-2450 or visit them at 800 West Broadway, next door to the Needles Desert Star. You can also find them online at www.TechNeedles.com.
Don’t Wreck Your Weekend

Don’t Wreck Your Weekend. That’s the message we hope sends waves this summer.
The Bullhead City Police and Fire Departments, Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC), Mohave County Parks and the City of Bullhead City kicked off the “Don’t Wreck Your Weekend” campaign this summer to promote boating safety.
“The biggest responsibility as a trauma center is to get the information out to the community to actually prevent those injuries from occurring to begin with,” said WARMC Emergency Room Director Mandy Doumit, who recalls treating watercraft injuries from bumps and scrapes to injuries resulting in fatalities. “That’s what our goal is with this campaign.”
People come here to enjoy the cool water of our scenic Colorado River and they don’t realize that life can change in a second. We urge people to pay attention, wear their life vest and to be a sober operator.
The Bullhead City Police Department responds to approximately 50 watercraft accidents every summer on the river. One common violation is of the “proximity law,” where watercraft must remain 60 feet apart from each other and the shoreline when maneuvering above a wake-less speed. Our boating officers often see personal watercraft play and splash each other and do not realize how easy it is to collide. Another common
cause of accidents occurs when people travel on the wrong side of the river. The order of traffic on the river is the same as the traffic pattern on the roadway.
Remember: stay right, boats can’t brake and keep your distance. It is important for operators, particularly people renting personal watercraft, to know their vessel and the rules of the waterway. In an effort to help make our waterways safe, all rental consumers are mandated to watch a safety video before they operate a personal watercraft on the Colorado River. This safety video can be viewed by anyone on YouTube: https://youtu.be/YUHPMVHKuqY or on the Bullhead City Police Department’s Facebook page. Please prepare yourself for our busy boating season and have a safe summer!

Joy Papa, Chief Ancillary Officer and Co-Founder of Community Healthcare Partners Inc. has 30 years of clinical experience in strategic planning, management and direction of ancillary services in order to meet the mission, vision and values of the hospital.
She graduated from Philippine Women’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, completed her medical internship at U.S. Naval Regional Medical Centre in Subic Bay Philippines prior to obtaining her California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license in 1984. Since then, she held her CLS and management positions for Kaiser Hospitals, Kindred Hospitals, Adventist Hospitals, Los Angeles/Norwalk Community Hospitals and Monrovia Memorial Hospital. She was involved in the planning, budgeting, organizing, developing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the activities and resources (human, material and capital) necessary for quality patient care, efficient operations, and stringent regulatory compliance of the departments. She is a member of AACC, CAMLT and PAMET.
In this era of low reimbursement, workforce shortages and radical changes in technology and state regulations, Joy continued to surpass all these challenges. In fact, in the last 5 years she has been the Chief Ancillary Officer at CRMC, the hospital achieved two near perfect scores during their laboratory accreditation inspection, installed brand new 16 slice CT scanner in-house and is in the process of installing a brand new state of the art X-ray machine. Colorado River Medical Center is located at 1401 Bailey Ave, Needles, CA. For more information call 760-326-7100.
Laughlin’s a ROMP’n!

The American Legion Riders (ALR) Western Region ROMP (Riding On Military Pride) will be held from May 30th through June 2nd in Laughlin, Nevada.
Each year at the ROMP, the riders vote on where they want to ROMP next. At the Bellingham, WA event, Post 60 in Laughlin, NV was the winner.
As a little history, the ROMP is a gathering of Legion Riders for the purpose of getting to know riders from other locations, having fun riding as a group and, above all, enjoying each other’s company and learning about riding in different locations and climates.
The ROMP was initially a national get-together on the east coast. John Moffett, past Western Regional Liaison, participated one year and met only three riders from the west, all from his home state. After being appointed to the National Committee, he queried members from the Western Region about having a regional ROMP. All the feedback said, “Go for it!”, so John made it happen.
Although it may not be true, the Western Region claims the bragging rights of being the first region to have a Regional ROMP. Trust me, “It’s our story and we are sticking to it.”
The Western Region is made up of 9 western states which includes Alaska and Hawaii. Folks from Alaska have already signed up; and one couple from China Post 1 is planning on being in Laughlin. Last year was the 6th Western Region ROMP. The first was held in Pocatello, ID. It then was held in Livingston, MO; Overgaard, AZ; Seaside, OR; and San Luis Obispo, CA, Bellingham, WA.
The theme of the event is established by the hosting post. The basic criteria for a ROMP are good food, good rides, good activities, and great comradery. Post 60 plans to meet all the requirements.
